Introduction

Hello, Welcome to the Salem Heights Church Israel 2009 BLOG. We pray that the entries to be posted here will be as enlightening and encouraging to you as they have been to us on the trip. We will be posting pictures and events we have seen and learned about each day.

First of all, we have set up an EMERGENCY email address that will get to the group immediately if communication is necessary. Please email israel911@salemheightschurch.org if you need to communicate with the group wherever they are. For all other communication please email the individual's personal email address. We will have internet access at times throughout the trip. If you would like to email the group as a whole, the address is israel2009@salemheightschurch.org .

There are several options in which you can follow along as we travel through Israel. These options vary in complexity.

2. You can set up a "Gadget" in your iGoogle page as an RSS feed by clicking the Posts link as shown here.

3. You can Follow this blog and have the blog email you when updated by assigning yourself as a "follower" by clicking the Follow this Blog link on the bottom right as shown. By following the BLOG you will be emailed when a new entry has been added to the BLOG.

We Are On Our Way!

Our level of anticipation and excitement for this trip is extremely high. We are fully expecting that it will be an adventure that you will not want to miss! Everyone with an open heart and an adventuresome spirit is invited to join in. Our hope is that the Scriptures will come to life and our lives will be enriched as we explore the land of prophets, priests and the King of kings.

Our adventure takes us from the Mediterranean Coast at the ancient city of Caesarea and walks us along the paths of some of the greatest events in history. We’ll kick up the dust of ancient battlefields. We’ll touch the stones that stand as silent witnesses of God’s miraculous power. We’ll dip our feet in waters that were stirred and calmed by the voice of the Creator.

Our emphasis on this tour will be to visit and explain the Biblical significance of key sights in Israel. We look forward to building lifelong memories and friendships in Christ.

Our group includes a total of 42 participants for the Israel portion of the trip (March 21 - April 1) and 22 for the Jordan pre-trip (March 18 - 21.)
